“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” YA superhero series coming to Freeform

0

Marvel continues to dip their toes into the TV world. Their latest adaptation brings two of their teen superheroes to screen on Freeform in their new show “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger.”

“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” will follow Cloak and Dagger, an interracial superhero duo that appears in the Marvel universe. Tyrone Johnson – Cloak – can manipulate darkness, while Tandy – Dagger – can use light as a weapon. From very different backgrounds, the two meet as teenagers in New York City as runaways.

This is far from Freeform’s first dip into the pool of preexisting YA fiction, though it will be the first time the channel works with Marvel. They’ve previously adapted Sara Shephard’s Pretty Little Liars series and Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments series.

Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios will co-produce the show, according to Variety. No writers have been attached to the show.
