An Ember in the Ashes author Sabaa Tahir will be one of the four authors featured at this year’s Children’s Author Breakfast at BookExpo America, a professional publishing conference that will take place in Chicago this May.
In exchange for help from rebels who promise to rescue her brother, Laia risks her life to spy for them from within the Empire’s greatest military academy in An Ember in the Ashes. There, Laia meets Elias, the school’s finest soldier—and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he’s being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined—and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.
The breakfast will be hosted by Golden Globe winner and New York Times bestselling author Jamie Lee Curtis. Tahir will be joined by American Born Chinese author Gene Luen Yang and Captain Underpants creator Dav Pilkey.
Tahir will also appear at BookCon, a ComicCon-esque conference that connects publishers and authors with hoards of adoring readers, with a floor of booths accompanied by panels and signings throughout the day.
The breakfast will take place during BookExpo America on May 13th; a ticket purchase is required to attend.
