Robert Sheehan and Hailee Steinfeld will star in a film adaptation of Jennifer E. Smith’s The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. Hailee Steinfeld has been attached to play lead lady Hadley since the project began; Sheehan was only just cast as Hadley’s love-interest Oliver.
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight follows Hadley Sullivan, late to her flight at JFK, where she meets handsome British boy Oliver. One long night on the plane together passes by fast – but the two quickly lose each other when they arrive, and fight to find each other again. The entire story takes place over 24 hours.
Steinfeld starred in the adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game. Sheehan is best known to the YA world for his role as Simon Lewis in the original film adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones.
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight movie will be directed by Dustin Lance Black. Black will also act as executive producer, with Bruna Papandrea, Caroline Kaplan and Steve Hutensky producing.
