YALSA announces 2014 Best Fiction for Young Adults


Every year, the Young Adult Library Services Association comes out with a list of the best YA books after the ALA’s Midwinter Meeting. This year’s list consists of 98 books drawn from over 150 nominations, ranging from realistic fiction to horror and science fiction. Here is the top ten:

  2. Freakboy by Elizabeth Kristin Clark
  3. Better Nate Than Ever by Tim Federle
  4. Far Far Away by Tom McNeal
  5. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
  6. Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick
  7. Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
  8. Winger by Andrew Smith
  9. Golden Boy by Tara Sullivan
  10. Rose Under Wire by Elizabeth Wein
