WRINKLE IN TIME movie announces April 2018 release date

a wrinkle in time madeleine l'engleA Wrinkle in Time movie adaptation has a release date: April 6, 2018.

A Wrinkle in Time, the classic YA novel by Madeleine L’Engle, tells the story of Meg Murry and her younger brother Charles Wallace as they search for their missing father across space and time. Though Ava DuVernay’s is not the first movie adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time – it was adapted as a TV movie back in 2003 – it will be the first adaptation produced by a major company.

Meg Murry will be played by Storm Reid. Reid’s most notable film role so far has been a short role in “Twelve Years A Slave,” a film which skyrocketed the career of the incomparable Lupita Nyong’o.

Mindy Kalig, the star of “The Office” and “The Mindy Project” and the author of Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, will play Mrs. Who. Reese Witherspoon, a director and actress who will star in the upcoming TV show “Big Little Lies” (though perhaps known best for her role as Elle Woods), will play Mrs. Whatsit. Oprah Winfrey, currently starring in the TV shows “Queen Sugar” and “Greenleaf,” will play Mrs. Which.

Jennifer Lee, writer and co-director of Disney’s animated hit “Frozen,” will write the screenplay along with Chris Buck. A Wrinkle in Time, first published in 1962, is available now.
