Actress and bestselling author Lauren Graham optioned Windfall movie rights. Graham’s production company Good Game Productions will adapt Jennifer E. Smith’s latest novel into a full-length feature film.
In Windfall, Alice has loved her best friend Teddy for years. On his eighteenth birthday, she buys him a lottery ticket, and Teddy wins $140 million dollars. In an instant, everything changes. At first, it’s a dream come true, but a rift opens between them and the money feels more like a curse than a gift.
Smith’s previous novels include The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between. Five of her nine novels, including Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between, are currently in development for film.
In addition to publishing Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls and Everything in Between, Graham has adapted The Royal We for CBS Films as well as her debut novel Someday, Someday, Maybe for the CW.
