The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) chose Sarah Dessen’s The Moon and More as the recipient of their annual award for best young adult fiction.

The SIBA book awards are an annual event celebrating literature written by Southern authors and inspired by the American South.  The winning novels are nominated and voted for each year by SIBA-member booksellers.

The Moon and More is a contemporary realistic novel. In the summer before college, small town girl Emaline meets Theo, a super-ambitious outsider who promises her a bright future. Emaline wants the moon and more, but first she must learn to balance where she comes from with where she’s going.
