The Bookseller launches YA Book Prize

The Bookseller announced the launch of the YA Book Prize, a new children’s book award celebrating the year’s best fiction for teenagers and young adults written by British and Irish authors.  The initial idea for the YA Book Prize was conceived after Bookseller reported earlier in the year on the lack of book prizes celebrating the efforts of young adult authors from the U.K. and Ireland.

The prize winners will be judged by a team of teenage readers and industry experts.  The shortlist of nominees will be announced in December 2014, and the winning title will be revealed at a special ceremony held at Foyles, Charing Cross on 19th March 2015.
