The Book Smugglers launch digital publishing platform


hunting monsters s l huangReview bloggers Ana Grilo and Thea James of The Book Smugglers have announced the launch of Book Smugglers Publishing, a new publishing platform for speculative fiction featuring subversive, feminist, and diverse perspectives.

Book Smugglers Publishing plans to digitally publish original short stories centering on a new theme for each season.  The first six ebooks, all “subversive fairy tale retellings,” will be published biweekly from October 7th to December 16th.

The first Book Smugglers Publishing short story, published today, is Hunting Monsters by S.L. Huang, a young adult historical fantasy described as a combination of Beauty and the Beast and Little Red Riding Hood.

The Book Smugglers are currently accepting story submissions for Spring 2015 about “First Contact”.

Each short story will be made available for free on The Book Smugglers’ website and available for purchase from ebook retailers. For more, visit the Book Smuggler’s website.
