Stephanie Perkins announced on her blog earlier this month that her latest contemporary young adult novel Isla and the Happily Ever After will be released in the United States on August 14th 2014.
Isla and the Happily Ever After is the third and final book of a series of contemporary young adult romances featuring characters from Perkins’ debut novel Anna and the French Kiss. From the glittering streets of Manhattan to the moonlit rooftops of Paris, falling in love is easy for hopeless dreamer Isla and introspective artist Josh. But as they begin their senior year in France, Isla and Josh are quickly forced to confront the heartbreaking reality that happily-ever-afters aren’t always forever.
Perkins explained that initial reports that the book would be released in May 2014 were inaccurate and due to a placeholder date agreed upon by the author and publishers early last year, as the official release date was unknown at that time. Perkins, who has spoken out about her battle with depression while writing Isla and the Happily Ever After thanked her fans for their understanding and support and reassured readers that the new release date is not a placeholder.
