Patrick Warburton to play Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’

a series of unfortunate events the end lemony snicketPatrick Warburton will play Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Warburton most recently played Mike Moore on the TV series “Crowded.” He is also known for his role as Brock Samson on “The Venture Bros.” and as the voice of Joe Swanson in “Family Guy.”

A Series of Unfortunate Events is written by Daniel Handler under the Lemony Snicket pseudonym. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire try to find out the truth of their parents’ deaths while their villainous uncle Count Olaf tries to take their fortune. The entire series is available in print now.

Snicket acts as the narrator throughout the series, guiding the reader along on the adventure and reminding that this story is not one with a happy ending. Whether Warburton will make actual appearances within the show or just do voice-over has yet to be determined, though IMDB currently lists his role as strictly voice-over.

Warburton will be joining a cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris will play Count Olaf, Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire, and Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire. Barry Sonnefeld will act as director.
