OBSIDIAN lands screenwriter

obsidian jennifer armentroutAva Dellaira, author of Love Letters to the Dead, will be adapting Jennifer Armentrout’s Obsidian for the screen, according to Deadline.

In Obsidian, Katy Swartz moves to West Virgina and meets Daemon Black – infuriating, stab-worthy, and an alien. Daemon and his family have enemies who want to steal his powers. But his touch has given Katy some serious “alien mojo,” and until it fades, they’ve got to stick together.

Obsidian was first optioned in 2013 by Sierra / Affinity. Sierra Pictures will finance the project and produce with Mr. Mudd’s Russ Smith and Lianne Halfon.

Dellaria adapted Love Letters to the Dead for Fox 2000 and was the associate producer of the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
