Nominations for the 2014 CILIP Carnegie Medal Announced


The nominations for the 2014 CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Children’s Book Awards were announced earlier this month, and several young adult novels have made the list.  The Carnegie Medal is a prestigious award established in 1936, which honours outstanding books for children and young people.  Nominees are chosen by Youth Libraries Groups in the U.K. and the winning titles are chosen by a panel of children’s librarians.

The 2014 nominated young adult titles include:

  • All the Truth That’s in Me by Julie Berry
  • Doll Bones by Holly Black
  • Noble Conflict by Malorie Blackman
  • One Crow Alone by S. D. Crocket
  • The Obsidian Mirror by Catherine Fisher
  • Infinite Sky by C.J. Flood
  • Charm and Strange by Stephanie Kuehn
  • Hostage Three by Nick Lake
  • The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth LaBan
  • If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch
  • Ketchup Clouds by Annabelle Pitcher
  • Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
  • Geek Girl by Holly Smale
  • The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
  • Rose Under Fire by Elizabeth Wein
  • The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
