New YA novel from former editor of EW Jeff Giles

The rights for a debut YA series from Jeff Giles, former deputy managing editor of Entertainment Weekly, have been sold to Bloomsbury.  The first novel of the series, titled The Mercy Rule, has been described as a star-crossed romance between a teenager trying to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance and a bounty hunter trying to escape the Lowlands.

Bloomsbury have brought both The Mercy Rule and an as-yet-untitled sequel.  The Mercy Rule is slated for publication in early 2016.
