Chloe Grace Moretz and Sasha Lane will star in the upcoming film adaptation of Emily M. Danforth’s The Miseducation of Cameron Post.
The Miseducation of Cameron Post is a realistic coming-of-age story set in sleepy Miles City, Montana in the early 1990s. When Cameron Post’s parents die suddenly in a car crash, her shocking first thought is relief. Relief they’ll never know that, hours earlier, she had been kissing a girl. But just as Cameron’s life starts to look brighter, her ultrareligious Aunt Ruth takes drastic action to “fix” her niece, bringing Cam face-to-face with the cost of denying her true self.
Produced by Beachside and Parkville Pictures, with Desiree Akhavan set to direct, The Miseducation of Cameron Post movie will feature Moretz as Cameron, while Lane will play Cameron’s friend at the conversion therapy clinic.
Moretz is best known for her roles as Hit-Girl in “Kick-Ass,” Mia Hall in the adaptation of Gayle Forman’s If I Stay, and Cassie Sullivan in the adaptation of Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave, while Lane recently made her debut in “American Honey.”
John Gallagher Jr. (“The Newsroom”), Forrest Goodluck (“The Revenant”) and Jennifer Ehle (“Zero Dark Thirty”) will also appear in the film.
