Miguel Arteta to direct ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES movie

all the bright  places movie jennifer nivenThe film rights to Jennifer Niven‘s contemporary YA novel All The Bright Places were snagged a few months ago by producers Paula Mazur and Mitchelle Kaplan, with Elle Fanning attached to star in the movie as Violet. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the producers have officially named a director: Miguel Arteta.

All the Bright Places follows a romance between Violet, obsessed with the future, and Finch, obsessed with his own death. They pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their home state.

Arteta recently directed the movie adaptation of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

Jennifer Niven will write the script.
