Megan Shepherd wins North Carolina Young Adult Book Award


her dark curiosity megan shepherdYoung adult author Megan Shepherd won the North Carolina Young Adult Book Award in the High School category for The Madman’s Daughter.

The North Carolina Young Adult Book Award began in 2008 to encourage students to read by involving them in the process of selecting and voting in their favorie titles. The titles are chosen from nominations submitted by students and media coordinators across the state. There are ten finalists in each category, with one book per age group selected as the overall winner.

The Madman’s Daughter is the first book in a trilogy. The second book, Her Dark Curiosity, was released in January and the third and final book, A Cold Legacy, will be released in January 2015.

Veronica Roth’s Divergent won for the Middle School category.
