Marissa Meyer, author of the Lunar Chronicles series, has announced her final ARC contest: the Write Like Crazy NaNoWriMo Challenge. Meyer is a regular NaNoWriMo participant, having written 150,011 words of what would later become the first three books of the Lunar Chronicles series for NaNoWriMo in 2008. This November, Meyer is encouraging her fans to write more words than she does.
All participants of the Write Like Crazy challenge who write more words than Meyer will receive a prize, and the person who writes the most words will receive a signed copy of Cress, the third book of the Lunar Chronicles series. The contest is open internationally and winners will be announced after December 1st, when Meyer will reveal her word count.
The Lunar Chronicles is a YA sci-fi retelling of classic fairy tales, each with their own unique twist. The first book of the series introduced readers to a penniless cyborg named Cinder. In book two, Cinder teamed up with Scarlet, a French farm girl searching for her missing grandmother. In book three, Cinder and Scarlet will be joined by Cress, a young woman with an awful lot of hair, locked in a satellite circling the Earth.
