LUMBERJANES movie lands director Emily Carmichael

Emily Carmichael will direct the movie adaptation of Lumberjanes, according to The Wrap. Carmichael is a rising screen writer and director, with previous works that include “The Hunter and the Swan Discuss Their Meeting” and “RPG OKC.”

Lumberjanes, which was created by Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, Shannon Watters and Brooke A. Allen, follows five teen girls who want to enjoy their summer together. When a supernatural mystery pops up at their summer camp, they can’t help but to try and find answers.

The adaptation is a 20th Century Fox production. Ross Richie and Stephen Christy of BOOM! are co-producing with Adam Yoelin.
