Penguin Young Readers and School Library Journal are hosting a live event with young adult author Jay Asher (Thirteen Reasons Why) to discuss his work, his inspirations, and the sensitive issues he chooses to write about in his novels for teenagers.
In Asher’s Thirteen Reasons Why, teenager Clay Jensen is forced to confront his mistakes when his crush, Hannah, commits suicide… and then leaves him a cassette tape explaining that he was one of the reasons why she decided to end her life. Thirteen Reasons Why has been used as an anti-bullying text in classroom discussions in schools across America.
The webcast event will take place on Monday, March 3rd at 2p.m. EST. Registration is required to attend. To register for the event, visit the School Library Journal event page.
