Lemony Snicket wins 2014 Charlotte Zolotow Award


Bestselling children’s and young adult author Daniel Handler, also known by his pseudonym Lemony Snicket (A Series of Unfortunate Events) has been awarded the 17th Annual Charlotte Zolotow Award for outstanding picture book writing.  The Charlotte Zolotow Award is an American literary award for children’s books established in 1998 by the Cooperative Children’s Book Center.

The award was granted to Snicket for his picture book The Dark, illustrated by Jon Klassen.  The Dark tells the story of a child called Laszlo, who learns to conquer his fear of the dark.
