The team behind the upcoming film adaptation of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them cast Katherine Waterston as Porpentina, an American witch.
Porpentina – more affectionately known as Tina – meets New Scamander when Scamander visits New York to document magical creatures.
While Waterston will be playing an American witch, she is a British-born actress. Waterston recently starred in the TV series “Boardwalk Empire” as Emma Harrow.
Eddie Redmayne will play Newt Scamander. The movie’s title is a reference to the book Scamander pens within the canon of Harry Potter. A real life version of the book, penned by Rowling, was released as a companion novel to the series in 2001.

The movie will take place 70 years before the Harry Potter books and films begin, with Scamander traveling the world to document the magical creatures he meets.
The Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them movie adaptation is scheduled to release in theaters on November 18 of next year. This will be the first in “at least” a trilogy of films, all penned by J.K. Rowling herself. They will be directed by David Yates and produced by David Heyman.
