British young adult author James Dawson won the Queen of Teen UK award for 2014.
The award, founded in 2008, celebrates authors who write teen fiction. It highlights their efforts through teen nominations, voting from readers worldwide, and a subsequent crowning ceremony. Previous winners include Maureen Johnson, Cathy Cassidy, and Louise Rennison.
James Dawson is the author of Hollow Pike, Cruel Summer and Say Her Name. He is the first male winner in the award’s history.
