Jacqueline Woodson on shortlist for Hans Christian Anderson Award


beneath a meth moon jacqueline woodsonJacqueline Woodson (Beneath A Meth Moon) has been put on the shortlist for the Hans Christian Anderson Award. The Hans Christian Anderson award, chosen by the International Board of Books for Young People, chooses an author and an illustrator whose works made lasting contributions to children’s literature.

Woodson was chosen for often featuring African-American characters and for her resolve to have children see themselves reflected in the books they read.

Winners will be announced tomorrow, March 24th, at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. For more, visit the International Board of Books for Young People’s website.
