The International Thriller Writers announced the finalists for the 2015 Thriller Awards.
Nominees for the best young adult thrillers are Elle Cosimano’s Nearly Gone, Kristen Lippert-Martin’s Tabula Rasa, Meredith McCardle’s The Eighth Guardian, Victoria Schwab’s The Unbound and Kara Taylor’s Wicked Little Secrets.
In Nearly Gone, Nearly Boswell knows how to keep secrets. When a serial killer starts attacking students and leaves her cryptic ads in the newspaper, she decides to confide in the new guy at school – a reformed bad boy working for the police, who is doing surveillance on her. Tabula Rasa follows Sarah, who needs the help of a teen computer hacker to unlock the memories trapped in her head.
Meredith McCardle’s The Eighth Guardian is about Amanda Obermann – code name Iris – who is the first junior at Peel Academy chosen to join the Annum Guard, a secret time-traveling organization. Schwab’s Unbound is the sequel to The Archived and follows Mackenzie Bishop, a Keeper who must stop violent Histories from escaping the Archives.
In Wicked Little Secrets, a follow-up to Prep School Confidential, Anne Dowling must survive the conspiracies at Whatley Prep. Kathy Reichs, author of the Temperance Brennan series and the YA novel Virals, was named the recipient of the 2015 Silver Bullet Award. Winners will be announced at Thrillerfest X on July 11th.
