Indie Next List adds backlist; features Donnelly, Pratchett


a northern light jennifer donnellyIndie Next List announced that it will introduce a ‘Revisit and Rediscover’ feature that highlights backlist titles. The first three YA titles to be featured will be Jennifer Donnelly’s A Northern Light, Steve Kluger’s My Most Excellent Year, and Terry Pratchett’s The Wee Free Men.

In A Northern Light, Mattie Gokey takes a job at Glenmore, where Grace Brown tells her to burn a secret bundle of letters. But when Grace’s body is found in the lake, Mattie discovers the letters could hold the secret to her murder.

In My Most Excellent Year, T.C. wants Alejandra to fall in love with him; Alejandra wants to wiggle out of her responsibilities of being a diplomat’s daughter; and Augie is gay and in love, which everybody knows but him.

The Wee Free Men is the thirtieth Discworld book and the first in the Tiffany Aching series. Tiffany, a young witch-to-be, is all that stands between Fairlyand and the country that’s her home. She’s forced to ally herself with the local Wee Free Men to find her kidnapped brother.

The program, put together by two panels of booksellers, will be featured on the Winter Kids’ Indie Next List.
