the impossible knife of memory laurie halse andersonAuthor Laurie Halse Anderson (Speak) will be talking about and signing copies of her new novel The Impossible Knife of Memory at the Hudson Valley YA Society, Oblong Books on Monday 20th January at 6pm.  Oblong Books will also play host to Lucy Christopher (The Killing Woods), Len Vlahos (The Scar Boys), and Margaux Froley (Escape Theory) on Sunday 2nd February.

In The Impossible Knife of Memory, Hayley Kincaid longs for a normal life with friends and a relationship after spending five years on the road with her father, who struggles to escape the demons that have tortured him since his return from Iraq.

Christopher’s The Killing Woods is a dark psychological thriller in which teenager Emily searches for answers to clear her father’s name from a terrible crime.  Vlahos’ The Scar Boys is a coming-of-age novel set in the unique style of a college application essay, and Froley’s Escape Theory tells the story of sixteen-year-old Devon Mackintosh, who embarks on an investigation into the supposed suicide of the boy she loved.
