HALF A KING wins Best YA Locus Award

Locus Magazine named Half a King by Joe Abercrombie their best YA book of the year.

Half a King is the first in Abercrombie’s Shattered Sea series. Prince Yarvi, born with only one hand, is determined to regain his throne across the sea, but he must cross the Shattered Sea first.

The award focuses solely on speculative fiction. Other finalists for the award included Paolo Bacigalupi’s The Doubt Factory, Gail Carriger’s Waistcoats & Weaponry, Ian McDonald’s Empress of the Sun, and Garth Nix’s Clariel.
