The spring Fierce Reads tour approaches with a stellar line-up of authors: Erin Beaty, Taran Matharu, Kristen Orlando and Scott Westerfeld.
Erin Beaty’s The Traitor’s Kiss follows Sage Fowler, who is not what they’d call a lady – an arrangement perfectly fine with her. Deemed unfit for marriage, Sage is recruited by a handsome soldier to infiltrate the enemy ranks. The more she discovers as a spy, the less certain she becomes about whom to trust and Sage becomes caught in a dangerous balancing act that will determine the fate of her kingdom.
After the thrilling cliffhanger at the end of book two, fans rejoin Fletcher and his friends in Taran Matharu’s The Battlemage, where they must undertake a mortally dangerous quest, all the while avoiding capture by enemies and facing foes more terrifying than anything they have yet encountered. But this is nothing compared to what truly lies ahead for Fletcher, as his nemesis, albino orc Khan, is on a mission to destroy Hominum and everything and everyone that Fletcher loves.
Kristen Orlando’s debut novel You Don’t Know My Name is about Reagan Elizabeth Hillis, the daughter of super top-secretive government agents. Expected to follow in her parents footsteps, Reagan has been training her entire life. But as an upperclassmen in high school, time is running out for Reagan to choose the life she really wants. With great friends and falling in love, a normal life appeals more than the dangers and risks she sees her parents face every day.
Scott Westerfeld’s graphic novel Spill Zone takes place in Poughkeepsie, where an event forever changed reality within its borders. Uncanny manifestations and lethal dangers now await anyone who enters the Spill Zone. Addison provides for her sister by photographing the Zone’s twisted attractions on illicit midnight rides. When an eccentric collector makes a million-dollar offer, Addison breaks her own hard-learned rules of survival and ventures farther than she has ever dared.
