Director in negotiations for LOOKING FOR ALASKA film


Rebecca Thomas is in talks with Paramount Pictures to direct the film adaptation of John Green’s Looking for Alaska.

In Looking for Alaska, Pudge is a boy obsessed with last words, whose entire life is thrown upside down when he meets Alaska Young. Looking for Alaska won the Michael L. Printz Award in 2006.

According to Deadline, Thomas is Paramount’s top choice, and they want to fast track the project after the success of Green’s previous movie adaptations. The film will be written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who penned The Fault in Our Stars film. Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Mark Waters and Jessica Tuchinsky will direct.
