Cross Pictures buys rights to TEMPEST movie


tempest julie crossCross Pictures optioned the film rights to Julie Cross’s Tempest.

Published by St. Martin’s Griffin in 2012, Tempest follows Jackson Meyer, who can travel back through time. When his girlfriend is murdered, and he ends up trapped in the past with no way to save her, Jackson must learn to master his abilities or be murdered by the same group who killed her.

The Tempest movie will be headed by executive producers Brendan Deenen and Mimi Polk Gitlin. Scott and Sean Cross – no relation to the author Julie Cross – will produce, according to Variety.

There is no word on whether the two sequels, Vortex and Timestorm, will also have their rights optioned.
