CHEMICAL HEARTS movie rights sell to Awesomeness Films


our chemical heartsAwesomeness Films, the company that brought YouTubers to the big screen in “Snervous and Smosh: The Movie,” obtained the rights  for the movie adaptation of Our Chemical Hearts, the debut novel of Australian writer Krystal Sutherland.

Our Chemical Hearts follows Henry Page, a hopeless romantic who has never been in love. When he and Grace are chosen to edit the school newspaper together, he finds himself falling head over heels and wants nothing more than to be a part of her life.

“Krystal Sutherland is a breakout young writer, whose voice uniquely captures the emotional journey of falling in love for the first time,” said Awesomeness Films president Matt Kaplan to Variety.

The company is also working on the movie adaptation of Lauren Oliver’s Before I Fall, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.
