these broken stars amie kaufman meagan spoonerA These Broken Stars TV show could be coming to your screens sometime in the near future. Actor Eric Balfour partnered with “Fargo” producer Warren Littlefield to bring the TV show to reality.

These Broken Stars is the first novel in the Starbound trilogy from Australian author Amie Kaufman and American author Meagan Spooner.  When the luxury spaceliner Icarus crashes, the only two survivors – a high society girl and a soldier – must find a way to survive on a strange uninhabited planet.

Deadline speculates that the show is being eyed by Freeform (formerly ABC Family) in the U.S. and Sky TV in the U.K.

“Contiuum” creator Simon Barry will write the These Broken Stars adaptation.

Whether the deal includes rights to This Shattered World and Their Fractured Light – both sequels to These Broken Stars – has yet to be confirmed.
