2015 RITA finalists announced


plus one elizabeth famaThe Romance Writers of America (RWA) announced the finalists for it annual RITA Award. The RITA is the “the highest award of distinction in romance fiction” and recognizes outstanding romance novels and novellas.

The 2015 RITA finalists for the Young Adult Romance category are Juliana Stone’s Boys Like You, Elizabeth Fama’s Plus One, Clara Kensie’s Run To You, and Patty Blount’s Some Boys.

Boys Like You by Juliana Stone tells the story of Monroe Blackwell who is spending the summer in Louisiana with her grandmother after her family fell apart and Nathan Everet who is distraught after an accident leaves his best friend in a coma.

Plus One by Elizabeth Fama is a dystopian science-fiction story set in a world where people are separated by those who can only live at night and those who can only live during he day.

Run to You by Clara Kensie is a six-part story about Tessa Carson, a girl with psychic powers and her boyfriend Tristan Walker who can’t find out her real name or her powers

Some Boys by Patty Blount tells of the story of a girl named Grace as she falls in love with the best friend of the boy she accused of rape.

The 2015 RITA Awards will be presented at an award ceremony at the RWA Annual Conference in New York on July 25. More information about the RITA Awards can be found at the RWA website.
